The Experience
Explore Scottsdale and the surrounding Sonoran Desert on a guided road cycling adventure led by a professional cycling guide. Your ride begins at the designated meeting location, where your guide will fit your road bike and review safety procedures before heading out. Once on the road, you’ll pedal through scenic desert landscapes with views of the surrounding mountain ranges, while your guide shares insights into the area’s geography and history. The route is suited to intermediate riders who are comfortable covering 20–30 miles on paved roads, so come prepared for a proper ride rather than a casual sightseeing cruise.
Over approximately two to three hours, you’ll ride with a group of cyclists at a similar ability level, with your guide leading the route and helping keep the group together. Your tour includes a professional road cycling guide, a quality road bike, bottled water, snacks, and applicable park entry fees. Helmets are required, and cycling shorts and jerseys are recommended; bring cycling shoes or athletic shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water bottles. Riders must be at least 14 years old, and transportation to the meeting point is not included. Whether you’re visiting Arizona or looking for a new route to ride with a local guide, this is an opportunity to put in the miles while taking in the desert scenery.

Where does the road ride meet? ▼
The ride starts at our Tempe bike shop, where your guide handles the safety briefing, bike fitting, and liability release before you head out. Exact shop details and timing are in your booking confirmation, and transportation is available as an add-on.
What fitness level and pace should I expect? ▼
This tour suits intermediate to advanced road riders, with routes from 15 to 100 miles chosen around your priorities. Expect 2.5 to 3 hours of cycling and sustained time on open desert roads. Riders must be at least 18 years old; tell us your typical pace and climbing comfort when you book.
What are the desert road conditions like? ▼
Expect heat, sun exposure, wind, and vehicle traffic on shared roads, with routes adjusted for conditions. Guides monitor weather and safety and may change the plan, and 360 Adventures is not responsible for extra travel expenses from those changes. Carry more water than you think you need and use sun protection.
What should I wear, and what about pedals? ▼
Closed-toe shoes are required, and bike shorts or comfortable athletic clothing are recommended. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, medications, and a camera. Flat pedals are standard; clipless pedals are complimentary on request, but bring your own cycling shoes and cleats. You are welcome to bring your own pedals for installation.
What is this tour's cancellation and rescheduling policy? ▼
Strict 72-hour window. Send cancellations or changes in writing through our contact form; replies to your confirmation email cannot be processed. More than 72 hours out, you receive a full refund minus card processing fees; inside 72 hours, the booking is charged in full. If 360 Adventures cancels, you receive a 100% refund including fees.
