The Experience
No tandem seats, no riding shotgun: you meet your guide at the Tonto National Forest staging grounds on Cline Cabin Road, gear up in DOT-certified helmet, goggles, and gaiters, and run the controls until the machine feels like yours. From the first thumb of the throttle you are on your own automatic single-rider ATV, cutting into backcountry beneath Four Peaks. The route is an active two-hour run through twisting sand washes, rocky shelf step-ups, and open desert hardpack flanked by saguaros, with a pause at a high point for cold water, snacks, and photos. You finish at staging, dust on your goggles and the desert still buzzing in your hands.

- Booking note: groups of 8 or more add an automatic 15% gratuity. Prices do not include 8.1% sales tax and a 5% fuel surcharge.

Essential Tour FAQs
Where is the off-road staging area? ▼
Staging is at the designated Sonoran Desert off-road area on Cline Cabin Road in Tonto National Forest, GPS 33°40'09.7"N 111°29'43.7"W, off the Fort McDowell/Highway 87 corridor. It is a remote trailhead; see the rideshare FAQ below before you plan your drop-off.
Can I take a rideshare or taxi back from the trailhead? ▼
No. The staging area is remote and rideshare or taxi service back is not reliably available. Plan to drive your own vehicle, or add roundtrip transportation from select Phoenix and Scottsdale hotels and resorts for $35 per person (8-person minimum) or a $280 flat rate for smaller groups. Do I need ATV experience or a license? ▼
No prior ATV experience is needed; the machines are fully automatic and the guide coaches throttle and terrain handling. Drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver's license, and every machine is single-rider with no tandem passengers. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
What are the desert and health realities? ▼
Tours run year-round and in most weather, with summer morning departures moving to 7 AM to beat the heat. Pregnant guests are not permitted because of the jarring terrain, and guests should be comfortable with dust, sun, and rough trail surfaces. Guides monitor conditions and cancel only for severe weather.
What should I wear and bring? ▼
Closed-toe shoes are mandatory; no sandals or slides. Wear long pants and a light long-sleeve layer for sun and dust, with sunglasses and sunscreen. Bring a valid driver's license and a credit card for the vehicle pre-authorization. Helmet, goggles, neck gaiter, water, and snacks are provided.
What is this tour's cancellation and rescheduling policy? ▼
Strict 72-hour window. Send cancellations or changes in writing through our contact form; replies to your confirmation email cannot be processed. More than 72 hours out, you receive a full refund minus card processing fees; inside 72 hours or a no-show, the booking is charged in full. If 360 Adventures cancels for severe conditions, you receive a 100% refund including fees.
