The Experience
The day starts with a pickup from a select Phoenix, Scottsdale, or Tempe hotel, or a nearby meeting point confirmed the day before, then the drive follows the historic Apache Trail into the Superstition Wilderness. You stop at Goldfield Ghost Town for gold panning and the boardwalk, then board the Dolly Steamboat at Canyon Lake for a 90-minute narrated cruise beneath the volcanic cliffs. The stagecoach stop at Tortilla Flat closes the loop before the return drive has you back at your hotel between 4 and 5 PM.

- Booking note: rates are per person. During scheduled Canyon Lake dam maintenance (September through mid-January), the steamboat cruise is replaced with a guided Superstition Mountain Museum tour and the adult rate is $145; the standard $169 rate and cruise resume after mid-January. Gratuity is not included. Prices do not include a $5 per person fuel surcharge. If you are traveling with children ages 3 to 12, contact us and we will apply the child rate.

Essential Tour FAQs
How does hotel pickup work? ▼
Complimentary roundtrip pickup is available from select hotels across Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe, with pickup between 8 and 9 AM (7 and 8 AM May through August) and return between 4 and 5 PM. The exact time is confirmed the day before based on your location. Depending on the route, you may be asked to meet at a nearby point.
Is the tour suitable for kids and older guests? ▼
Yes. The day is easy and low-impact, with casual walking on boardwalks and packed gravel paths plus straightforward gangway boarding for the steamboat. The tour is for ages 3 and up, and there is seating throughout the cruise and museum stops.
What happens during dam maintenance? ▼
During scheduled Canyon Lake dam maintenance, generally September through mid-January, the steamboat cruise is replaced with a comprehensive guided tour of the Superstition Mountain Museum, including the Elvis Chapel and the 20-stamp ore mill. The adult rate is reduced to $145 during that window. We confirm which version is running when you book.
What should I wear and bring? ▼
Wear comfortable closed-toe walking shoes, weather-appropriate layers, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Bring a camera and any medications. Unlimited bottled water is provided; meals are on your own in Tortilla Flat or Goldfield.
What is this tour's cancellation and rescheduling policy? ▼
Strict 72-hour window. Send cancellations or changes in writing through our contact form; replies to your confirmation email cannot be processed. More than 72 hours out, you receive a full refund minus card processing fees; inside 72 hours or a no-show, the booking is charged in full. If 360 Adventures cancels for severe conditions, you receive a 100% refund including fees.
