The Experience
Your adventure begins at the trailhead confirmed by your guide, typically Mescal or Dry Creek Vista, or at a Sedona Shuttle stop if you choose to ride Route 11. From there, you’ll follow high-desert trails winding through juniper, agave, and Sedona’s distinctive red rock formations on your way to Devil’s Bridge, the area’s largest natural sandstone bridge. The hike covers approximately 4 to 5.8 miles round trip, depending on the starting point, with mostly rolling terrain and a short climb up a natural rock staircase to reach the bridge. Along the way, your guide will share insights into the local geology and high-desert ecology while setting a pace suited to the group.
At Devil’s Bridge, you’ll have the opportunity to walk out onto the sandstone span for the classic photo or step back to appreciate the formation against the surrounding red rock landscape. The guided hike takes approximately three to four hours and is rated moderate, making it suitable for hikers ages 10 and older who are comfortable covering the distance over uneven terrain. Your guide carries first-aid supplies, but you’ll need to bring your own water, snacks, daypack, and sun protection. Sturdy, closed-toe hiking shoes or boots are required, along with weather-appropriate layers, a hat, and sunglasses. The tour runs year-round, with earlier departures during the summer months to help avoid the heat.

Essential Tour FAQs
Where does the tour meet? ▼
Your guide confirms the exact trailhead before the tour, typically Mescal or Dry Creek Vista; the Devil's Bridge Trailhead is only used when your vehicle has high-clearance access. On Thursdays through Sundays we recommend the free Sedona Shuttle Route 11 from the West SR-89A Park & Ride: your guide can meet you at the shuttle stop and start the tour on the ride in, and it avoids the trailhead parking crunch.
How difficult is the hike, and who can join? ▼
Moderate. Expect 4.0 to 5.8 miles round trip and about 371 feet of gain, mostly on rolling high-desert trail with a short rock-staircase climb at the end. Ages 10 and up; groups of up to 12 are split into two parties of six that hike separately, with a 2-person minimum.
What about heat, storms, and water? ▼
High-desert heat and afternoon storms are the real variables. Carry 24 to 32 ounces of water, bring snacks, and start early in summer; tours run rain or shine and are cancelled only for severe or hazardous conditions at 360 Adventures' discretion.
What should I wear and bring? ▼
Sturdy, closed-toe hiking shoes or boots are required. Bring weather-appropriate layers, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a daypack, your camera, and any medications.
What is the cancellation policy? ▼
Strict 72-hour policy. Send cancellations or rescheduling requests in writing through our contact form; replies to your confirmation email cannot be processed. More than 72 hours out, you receive a full refund minus card processing fees. Inside 72 hours, or a no-show, the booking is charged in full. Everyone in your party must sign the Assumption of Risk waiver at least 72 hours before the tour. If 360 Adventures cancels for conditions, you receive a 100% refund.
