The Experience
You meet your guide at the Canal/Hawes Trailhead Park & Ride in Mesa, where the kayak, paddle, and PFD are fitted and the on-shore briefing covers strokes, steering, and the riffles ahead. You launch into the current and drift past red cliffs and mesquite bosques, with your guide scanning for wild horses, bald eagles, and herons and calling the best lines. A beach stop for water and snacks breaks up the paddle before the take-out.

- Per Person (4-person minimum to run) $148
- Booking note: a 4-person minimum applies to run the tour, and smaller groups may book and be held on standby. Private tour upgrade is $200 per group. A single kayak can be requested for an additional $10 per person. Hotel pickup may be available for $295 (up to 10 guests).

Where do we meet for the kayak trip? ▼
Tours stage at our Lower Salt River staging area at the Canal/Hawes Trailhead Park & Ride (3055 N Power Rd, Mesa) before shuttling to the water launch. Your guide calls ahead with timing and parking details. Arrive 15 minutes early so the group can fit kayaks and PFDs.
Do I need kayaking experience? ▼
No. The tour is beginner friendly, with a sit-on-top kayak that is stable in the river's mild current and riffles, and the guide covers strokes and steering before launch. Guests must be at least 12 years old and weigh at least 35 lbs to fit the PFD. You should be comfortable on moving water and able to paddle for about two hours with breaks.
What about heat, weather, and river flow? ▼
Tours run year-round. September 15 through April 30 offers a 10:00 AM departure; May 1 through September 14 moves to 7:30 AM to beat the heat. Guides monitor weather and flow, and 360 Adventures may reschedule or cancel for lightning, flooding, or unsafe water levels. Sun on the river is intense, so bring sunscreen and a hat.
What should I wear and bring? ▼
Secure water shoes or sport sandals with a heel strap are required; no flip-flops or bare feet. Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring a change of clothes for the ride home. Pack sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap, a hat, a waterproof phone case, and any medications.
What is this tour's cancellation and rescheduling policy? ▼
Strict 72-hour window. Send cancellations or changes in writing through our contact form; replies to your confirmation email cannot be processed. More than 72 hours out, you receive a full refund minus card processing fees; inside 72 hours or a no-show, the booking is charged in full. If 360 Adventures cancels for severe conditions, you receive a 100% refund including fees.
