The Experience
You meet your guide at the Canal/Hawes Trailhead Park & Ride in Mesa, where the kayak, paddle, and PFD are fitted and the briefing covers strokes and the Class I current ahead. You launch into the evening light and paddle downstream as the desert cools and wildlife moves along the banks. A beach stop for water and snacks breaks up the paddle, and the take-out comes with the sky still changing color before the shuttle back.

- Booking note: a 4-person minimum applies to run the tour, and smaller groups may book and be held on standby. Private tour upgrade is $200 per group. Optional roundtrip resort transportation is $295.

Essential Tour FAQs
Where does the sunset kayak tour stage? ▼
Tours stage at our Lower Salt River staging area at the Canal/Hawes Trailhead Park & Ride (3055 N Power Rd, Mesa) before shuttling to the water launch. Your guide calls ahead with timing and parking details. Arrive 15 minutes early so the group can fit kayaks and PFDs.
Do I need kayaking experience? ▼
No. The tour is beginner friendly on Class I moving water, with a stable sit-on-top kayak and a stroke and steering briefing before launch. Guests must be at least 12 years old and weigh at least 35 lbs to fit the PFD. You should be comfortable paddling for about two hours with breaks.
What about weather and river flow at sunset? ▼
Tours run year-round. March through May 15 departs at 4 PM, May 16 through August at 5 PM, September 1 through 15 at 4 PM, and September 16 through February at 3 PM to follow the earlier sunset. Guides monitor weather and flow, and 360 Adventures may reschedule or cancel for lightning, flooding, or unsafe water. Bring a light layer for the ride back after sundown.
What should I wear and bring? ▼
Secure water shoes or sport sandals with a heel strap are required; no flip-flops or bare feet. Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring a light layer for the evening. Pack sunscreen, sunglasses with a strap, a hat, a waterproof phone case, and a change of clothes.
What is this tour's cancellation and rescheduling policy? ▼
Strict 72-hour window. Send cancellations or changes in writing through our contact form; replies to your confirmation email cannot be processed. More than 72 hours out, you receive a full refund minus card processing fees; inside 72 hours or a no-show, the booking is charged in full. If 360 Adventures cancels for severe conditions, you receive a 100% refund including fees.
