The Experience
Spend a full day on Arizona’s desert rock with a private climbing guide who can tailor the routes, pace, and challenges to your group’s experience and goals. Before your adventure, you’ll consult with your guide to discuss your climbing background, fitness, and what you want to get out of the day. Your climbing location will be selected based on the season, temperatures, and available shade, with options including Tom’s Thumb near Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, and Queen Creek near Superior.
At the crag, your guide will fit your climbing gear, review safety procedures and climbing commands, and set up single-pitch top-rope routes suited to your ability. Then it’s time to climb. With six to eight hours available, you can work on your technique, tackle different routes, take breaks as needed, and spend more time on the rock than a half-day outing allows. Whether you’re new to climbing or an experienced climber looking to build mileage, your guide will adjust the day to your group. Bring your lunch, plenty of water, and a willingness to challenge yourself. You’ll finish with a full day of climbing and a hike back to the trailhead.

Essential Tour FAQs
Where do we meet for the full-day climb? ▼
Your guide confirms the crag and exact trailhead parking area before the tour, after a short consultation about your experience and goals. The venues are Tom's Thumb in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, and Queen Creek Canyon near Superior, chosen for shade and season. Expect precise GPS coordinates, directions, and parking details in your confirmation, plus a call from your guide before the date.
Do I need climbing experience for a full day? ▼
No. The routes are single-pitch top-rope and matched to your ability, from first-timers to experienced climbers. You do need to hike 1 to 3 miles round trip over rocky terrain with a daypack and fit our harness (adults up to a 42-inch waist; youth harnesses are available). Ages 8 and up, under 16 with an adult, and rental climbing shoes go down to a men's size 4.
What if the weather turns or the desert heats up? ▼
Full-day climbs run year-round. October through April departures are at 8 AM; May through September starts move to 6 AM to avoid peak heat. Your guide monitors forecasts and selects shaded aspects, and 360 Adventures can reschedule or cancel for unsafe conditions with a full refund. Bring layers for cool mornings, sun protection, and at least 32 oz of water. Bees are common outdoors, so carry medication if you have a severe allergy.
What should I wear and bring? ▼
Wear sturdy closed-toe hiking shoes, trail runners, or approach shoes with aggressive tread; sandals and open-toe footwear are not allowed. Climbing shoes are provided, and if you need rentals, send your sizes in advance. Bring flexible athletic clothing, a hat, sunglasses, mineral sunscreen, a packed lunch, and at least 32 oz of water.
What is this tour's cancellation and rescheduling policy? ▼
Strict 72-hour window. Send cancellations or changes in writing through our contact form; replies to your confirmation email cannot be processed. More than 72 hours out, you receive a full refund minus card processing fees; inside 72 hours or a no-show, the booking is charged in full. If 360 Adventures cancels for severe conditions, you receive a 100% refund including fees. Everyone must sign the waiver at least 72 hours ahead, and a parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18.
